Haryana to have Elephant Conservation centre
Chandigarh, July 23: The Haryana government has decided to set up an Elephant Conservation Centre in Panchkula district with assistance from the Union Government, Minister of State for Forests Mrs Kiran Choudhry said.
The state Forests and Wildlife department has been entrusted with the task of identifying a suitable spot for the Centre, she said yesterday while talking to mediapersons after inaugurating the 57th state level Van Mahotsva celebrations at Panchkula.
She said that a detailed proposal for the Centre would be prepared by the government and submitted to the Union government for clearance.
