FKJGP calls for 3-day picketing of NEEPCO

Shillong, Jul 23 (UNI) The Federation of Khasi Jaintia and Garo People (FKJGP) has called for a three-day picketing of North East Electric Power Corporation (NEEPCO) headquarters here from tomorrow demanding removal of Corporation's Chairman and Managing Director Subash Chandra Sharma.

The eight-hour office picketing would start at 9 am and end at 5 pm everyday, said the FKJGP in a release today.

The agitaiton was to protest the alleged destructive policies and nepotism by the NEEPCO CMD, the FKJGP said.

The CBI had also indicted Mr Sharma for faking his experience certificates to get a job in the National Hydro Power Corporation (NHPC).

Many other organisations also demanded the removal of Mr Sharma as he allegedly not attending his office at its headquarters here instead functioning the Corporation from New Delhi.
