Ferrer beats Acasuso to take Stuttgart Cup

BERLIN, July 23 (Reuters) Spaniard David Ferrer beat Argentina's Jose Acasuso 6-4 3-6 6-7 7-5 6-4 to win the Mercedes Cup claycourt event in Stuttgart today.

The 24-year-old ended a four-year title drought to claim his second ATP crown. He also beat Acasuso in the Bucharest final in 2002.

''I tried to give everything and if I am going to have to die then I want to die like a man,'' said world number 18 Ferrer.
