Bus accident in Nepal kills 23, injures 40

Kathmandu, July 23 (UNI) At least 23 people died and more than three dozens were injured when a passenger bus bound for Sindhupalchowk from here skidded off the road and plunged into Balephi river in Sindhupalchowk district this morning.

More than 60 passengers were on board when the incident happened, a local radio said.

''Police teams from Bagmati, Sindhupalchowk and Kavreplanchowk and a Nepalese Army team from Barhabise have been dispatched for the rescue operation. Maoists and locals have also been engaged in this regard,'' Kantipur FM said.
