Bomb scare in Bangalore shopping mall turns hoax

Bangalore, July 23 (UNI) An SMS saying that a bomb had been planted in a noted shopping mall in this city today proved to be a hoax after thorough search.

Police officials said one of the owners of the mall, a retired top police official, informed the police of the SMS message sent to his cellphone stating that a bomb was planted in the mall.

Police bomb experts and sniffer dog squads rushed to the mall and conducted a detailed search.

However, no bomb was found and it turned out to be a hoax message. Police were trying to ascertain the source of the message, the officials added.
