CPI(M) demands K'taka Govt's resignation
Bangalore, July 21 (UNI) The CPI(M) in Karnataka today demanded that the JD(S)-BJP coalition Government in the State submit its resignation to enable an impartial inquiry into the corruption charge against the Chief Minister and announced a statewide protest on July 24 to press its demand.
CPI(M) State Secretary G N Nagaraj, in a statement here, said truth would be brought to light only through an impartial inquiry, which required that the accused did not hold the office.
Lashing the BJP for compromising on corruption charge to cling on to power, he said ''if such a corrupt party is in power, we cannot expect the welfare of the people of the State.'' Development works in the State have come to a standstill due to infighting between the coalition partners, the Marxist leader alleged, accusing the Government of being involved in making money rather than providing good governance.
