Girl booked for duping father to the tune of Rs 3.60 lakh
Vadodara, July 20 (UNI) The city police has booked a teenage girl for allegedly duping her father to the tune of Rs 3.60 lakhs by forging his signature on cheques in connivance with her boyfriend.
Aruna Rajput, daughter of a local businessman and her boyfriend, Jagdish Vaghela, were booked under sections 406, 467, 468 and 114 of IPC after the girl's father, Balwantsingh Rajput, filed a criminal complaint against the duo in the Jawahar Nagar police station here last night.
In his complaint, the father charged his daughter with having withdrawn Rs 3.60 lakh from different nationalised banks in the city between January and April, 2006, by forging his signature on cheques.
Aruna, who is the only daughter of Balwantsingh, a resident of Bajwa, was reportedly providing a helping hand to her father for the last couple of years in running their family business and shops in the city.
Police were interrogating the girl, while her boyfriend was absconding.
