Canadian varsity teams up with Indore academy
Indore, July 20 (UNI) A city-based educational society has collaborated with the University of Manitoba, Canada, to provide a sound, multicultural platform to students who wish to pursue studies abroad.
The Guru Ramdas Academy of International Studies (GRAIS) is offering four-year-long bachelor of science courses in Agriculture, Agribusiness, Agroecology, Food Science and Computer Science from the first week of September.
M B Khalsa Education Society Chairman Charanjeet Singh Saini and Secretary Ranveer Singh Chhabra told reporters today that GRAIS recently inked a MoU with the university.
With globalisation of education becoming commonplace, this collaboration would render an international dimension to skills-based technical learning of Indore's students. They would be exchanging knowhow with learners from varied cultures.
''Thereafter, they can pursue their post-graduation in Canada or bring resultant expertise home to benefit the domestic agri and food industry,'' Mr Saini added.
As per a Student Exchange Agreement signed between the institutions, those enrolling for an undergraduate programme would study for the initial period of one or two years at GRAIS and subsequently move to Winnipeg to earn their degree.
Key features included paid parttime work within campus, one full year of paid industrial placement during studentship in Winnipeg, a two-year work permit after earning degrees and an eligibility to pursue PG studies in Canada.
