Rajnath demands diplomatic campaign against Bangla
Guwahati, Jul 19: The BJP asked the Congress-led UPA government to mount diplomatic pressure on Bangladesh to dismantle all 'anti-India' terrorists training camps in their country.
''The union government should launch diplomatic campaign to create a consensus among global community to pressurise Bangladesh to stop hosting anti-India fundamentalists,'' Mr Rajnath Singh said at a press conference here.
"There is no denying the fact that Bangladesh has become a centre of international Islamic fundamentalists. It is a matter of grave concern for the BJP that all anti-India forces are getting training in Bangladesh training centres. I have information that more than 25,000 youths are getting training in that country," the BJP president said.
He demanded stepping up of vigil along the porous border with Bangladesh given that anti-India fundamentalists were believed to be sneaking into the country through the porous border in North Bengal and North East.
"There is no point talking to both Bangladesh and Pakistan unless they give commitment to stop cross border terrorism," Mr Singh said and demanded a global watch on activities of the Inter-Services Intelligence (ISI).
''Pakistan's ISI should be put under international watch because all terrorist attacks on India are sponsored and funded by the agency. It is in league or has links with anti-India terrorists based in Bangladesh, militants of NE, Maoists of Nepal and Naxalites of India,'' the BJP leader said.
''There is no doubt that ISI is a global terrorism promoter.
Hence, I will like to demand that the Centre build pressure in the United Nations Security Council to get the Pakistan agency branded as a global terrorist organisation,'' Mr Singh said.
He said because of the UPA government's 'policy of appeasement' effective steps could not be taken against the fundamentalists while there was an urgent need for concerted counter-jehadi operations throughout the country.
''During the last two year's of the UPA regime, national security has been exposed to greater threat because of the policy of appeasement,'' Mr Singh said.
He criticised the ruling Congress for fighting election in Tamil Nadu with TMMK which is branded as an extremist fundamentalist organisation as per the Home Ministry's list.
The BJP leader lambasted the Left parties for 'keeping silent' over the terrorist strike in Mumbai and stated that the ruling Congress and its allies were 'incapable' of dealing with Jehadi terrorism.
