Indian pilots reach settlement with ICPA
New Delhi, July 19 (UNI) The Indian Commercial Pilots Association (ICPA) has reached a new productivity linked settlement with Indian (Airlines).
Under the pact, pilots will perform a fourth landing within the flight and duty time limitation (FDTL) and also extend the FDTL both or domestic and international flights.
The new settlement will also enable Indian to plan long-haul international flights to foreign destinations. Keeping in view the likely growth in capacity in the coming years, Indian will now also be in a position to offer contract employment to its pilots who attain the age of superannuation.
Indian's chairman and managing director Vishwanath Trivedi described the settlement as mutually beneficial both for the employees as well as for the company as increased emoluments for pilots will also translate into higher productivity and concrete financial gains.
The last productivity settlement with the ICPA was signed by Indian in 2001.
