Bihar facing low capital investment and infrastructural problems
Patna, Jul 19 (UNI) The Central Administrative Reform Commission (ARC) today pointed out low capital investment and dismal infrastructure were the main problems in Bihar and suggested that the government adhere to the ethics of governance and adopt citizen centric administration.
After discussing the different aspects of administrative reforms in minute with state authorities and public, the ARC, headed by its chairman Veerappa Moily, told newspersons here that the situation in Bihar which happened to be one of the best administered state till 1960s has deteriorated.
Flanked by other members of the commission Vinita Ray, A P Mukherjee and B B Prasad, Moily said that low capital investment, infrastructural problem and lack of communication between authorities and public were some of the focus area that needed immediate attention. He hoped that the new government would make efforts for better governance in the state.
He said the points raisd by the commoners like inaccessibility to bureaucrats, red tapism, corruption at various levels, non existance of right to information act and public grievances are not properly attended.
He said after going through the public grievances it is clear that the bureaucrats should interact with the people, should be accessible and made more accountable for a citizen centric administration.
