Dr Baseer appointed chairman of North India Committee of IUML

New Delhi, July 18 (UNI) Dr Baseer Ahmed Khan has been appointed Chairman of North India Coordination Committee of the Indian Union Muslim League(IUML).

The decision to elect Dr Khan was taken at a meeting of senior functionaries of the party with an objective to further strengthen the League in the northern region.

It was attended by Mohammed Iqbal, Naim Akhtar, Munshi Shaukat Ali, Maqsoodul Haq and leaders of various state units of Uttar Pradesh, Bihar, Punjab and Uttaranchal.

Later, Dr Khan said there was no need to form separate Muslim front in Uttar Pradesh. He appealed the Muslim leaders to cooperate with the IUML to promote cause of the minorities in the country.
