BJP demands to curb anti-national network
Patna, July 17 (UNI) The BJP today lambasted the UPA government for adopting ''lackadaisical'' attitude towards terrorism and urged the Centre to deal strongly with anti-national networks active on the bordeing areas of Bihar.
BJP state president Radha Mohan Singh told newspersons here that the UPA government should frame stringent security policy with the consent of all political parties at national level.
He said the BJP would stage block level dharnas in the state for seven days commencing from July 25 to protest the anti-people policies of the government.
According to him, a coordination committee with four general sceretaries of the state unit of the party had been constituted for better coordination with the government.
The future strategy would be chalked out under the guidance of the central leadership.
Mr Singh asked the leaders of the party to exercise restraint while behaving with the officers.
Earlier, during its two-day state level executive meeting, the BJP adopted a resolution and alleged that the UPA was soft towards terrorists and infiltrators in order to keep its vote bank intact.
Infiltration was a serious issue and the Central government was allegedly promoting it with an eye on its vote bank, they said.
The resolution which was moved by the party state vice-president Sukhda Pandey outlined the problems of infilteration from Bangladesh and activities of ISI and SIMI and asked the government to initiate stern action to curb such anti-national forces operating, specially in the bordering areas of Bihar.
The party also raised fingers on the escalating prices and challeged the political parties including the RJD and left supporting UPA government to withdraw support in the common interest.
The resulution discussed the achievements and developmental works taken up by the NDA government in Bihar saying the Nitish Kumar government would live up to the expectations of the people and in the given situation, the workers of the ruling parties should realise their responsibilities.
The meeting was addressed by BJP national vice-president Shanta Kumar who demanded to hand over the entire security of Jammu and Kashmir to the army in view of the growing terrorists attacks.
