MP coming out of stigma of BIMARU state
Ratlam, July 16 (UNI) Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan today said speedier industrial development is taking the state out of the stigma of being a BIMARU state Mr Chouhan, while addressing a programme after distributing the payment of dues to employees of Sajjan Mill here yesterday, said the state had acquired an important place among developing states.
A capital investment of Rs 20,000 crore has been made in the industrial sector, while investors had come up with investment proposals worth Rs 87,000 crore, as per official information.
He elaborated upon the welfare schemes launched by the government for benefit of workers.
Distributing the cheques of dues as a token to 21 workers and employees, Mr Chouhan said the government was well aware of the problems of villages, weaker sections, farmers and labourers. It was making all efforts to redress them.
He assured to provide relief amount to 280 workers, who were not eligible for receiving the payment of dues.
Referring to the infrastructure development, Mr Chouhan informed that roads measuring 17,000 km had been constructed, while another 30,000 km roads were targeted to be constructed in the next two-and-half years.
Commerce and Industries Minister Babulal Gaur said Sajjan Mill workers would be given priority if they wished to switch over to new textile hub coming up at Pithampur.
Special schemes had been introduced for the workers of unorganised sector for the first time in the state. The government had made a provision of Rs 77 crore to improve the condition of poor workers.
