Indian exports to shine bright in next 6 months
New Delhi, Jul 16: India's exports segment will experience a robust growth in the next six months, as it is expected to remain even more conducive, a survey said today.
The survey, conducted by FICCI for first quarter of FY2006-07, showed that despite some some constraints faced by exporting communty, the current export conditions are much bettre as compared to those during the last six months.
A majority 56 per cent of the companies surveyed feel that current overall export conditions are ''moderately to substantially'' better as compared to the last six months.
The export optimism is so strong that 70 per cent of the companies feel that the export conditions are going to improve even further in the next six months, a clear indicator that India's current high export growth performance would be maintained, if not bettered, in the months ahead, the survey revealed.
The survey was conducted on 264 companies, with annual turnover of Rs 1 crore to Rs 20,000 crore, in sectors like automobiles, consumer durables, food processing, FMCG, textiles, handicrafts, metal and metal products, heavy engineering, pharmaceuticals and chemicals.
The study reveals that the key markets, which are likely to witness strong export growth, include the European Union, SAARC, West Asia, Latin America and the US.
However, 70 per cent of repondent companies have revealed that the rise in the cost of raw materials has emerged as the number one problem that India exporting community.
