'Kamaraj instrumental for devp of education'
Chennai, July 15: Union Minister of State for Statistics and Programme Implementation G K Vasan said late Chief Minister K Kamaraj was instrumental for the development of education, industries and agriculture in Tamil Nadu.
Mr Vasan made this observation while inaugurating a school of employability organised by NIS Sparta of Reliance Group of Companies here today.
The school was aptly inaugurated on the 104th birth anniversary of late Kamaraj, who was also instrumental in opening schools in all villages in the state.
Speaking on the occassion, Brand Band Tamil Nadu Circle Reliance Communications Head Suresh Srinivasan said the school would provide the country's corporate world with trained and skilled students who were ready to work in any industry.
The five to 15 days training programme was designed to impart tailor-made skills to students, which would enable them make a career in any industry from telecom, retail, banking or BPO, he added.
The Reliance itself needed 7,000 personnel immediately for its various branches and the demand was likely to go up in the coming days. The students trained by them would be absorbed by the Group on completion of training, he added.
Later, talking to reporters, he said the students would be selected through a simple aptitude test and the training would be free of cost.
Mr Subramaniam Seshadri Vice-President of NIS Sparta said the Reliance Group had taken over NIS Sparta two years ago, presently owned by Reliance Inforcomm. It had already opened similar schools in Delhi, Kolkata, Jaipur, Bhubaneshwar, Chandigarh, Kanpur and Lucknow.
Efforts were on to establish seven more similar schools in Tamil Nadu within in a couple of years, he added.
