CPI(M) warned UPA for anti-people activities
Agartala, Jul 14 (UNI) The ruling CPI(M) in Tripura asked the UPA government at the Centre to refrain from its anti-people activities.
Speaking at a number of conventions organised in different places of the state yesterday in support of its 14-point charter of demands, the leaders said the party would continue its protests against the UPA government's anti-people decisions both inside and outside Parliament rpt Parliament .
State Committee Secretary of the CPI(M) and former Convenor of the Left Front, Mr Baidyanath Majumder said if the Congress-led UPA government at the centre adopt anti-people policy one after another, then the party would have to rethink about its support to the Union government.
The conventions were held at part of the country-wide programme by the CPI(M) in support of its 14-point charter of demands including four demands for the interest of the state itself.
Mr Majumdar speaking at a convention in Kailashahar said following the people's verdict to the Left Parties in both West Bengal and Kerala in recent elections, peoples faith have increased towards the Left parties.
The octogenerian leader appealed to the party workers as well the people to participate in the ongoing struggle with all strength to make it success.
Others who spoke in the conventions were CPI(M)'s Central Committee member Bijan Dhar, MP and Left Front Convenor of the state Mr Khagen Das and State secretariat member Gautam Dash.
