Ranchi, Jul 14 (UNI) The BJP today led a procession here protesting against militancy in the Jharkhand capital and pasted a memorandum meant for the President at the entrance of the Raj Bhavan here after officials allegedly misbehaved with the party workers.
Governor Syed Sibtey Razi is not in town at present.
Feeling humiliated after the Raj Bhavan officials allegedly did not show any courtesy, the BJP workers, led by its national vice-president Sumitra Mahajan sat on a dharna and later pasted the memorandum on the gate.
Later talking to newspersons, Ms Mahajan said they knew about the governor's absence in the capital and they wanted to give the memorandum to the officers on duty.
''If the Governor was here, things would have been different,'' she said adding she was angry at the ''peculiar behaviour'' shown by the Raj Bhavan staff.
When the governor's house was contacted, the sources told UNI that as Mr Razi and the pricipal secretary were out of station, another senior officier was assigned to take the copy of the memorandum.
The BJP delegation was invited inside which it did not accept saying that there was no point in going inside in the governor's absence, Raj Bhavan source said.
Ms Mahajan alleged that there was no officer to take the memorandum, adding state president Yadunath Pandey had been asked to take up the matter after asertaining detailed information.
In the memorandum, the BJP accused the Congress-led government of not taking militancy seriously keeping in mind the vote bank policy.
