Udvada known for Zoroastrian temple to be developed as tourism spot
Valsad, July 13 (UNI) Udvada, a tiny town famous for the holy fire temple of Zoroastrian community, will be developed as a major tourism centre, the Gujarat Government said today.
For the purpose, Udvada, located along the Arabian sea coast, will be provided several infrastructural facilities, including concrete roads, a modernised drainage system, public toilets within the next three months, a government statement said.
This was decided at a high level meeting held under the chairmanship of District collector Dilip Raval in Valsad earlier in the day.
Besides various issues such as installing Solar street lights and maintaining 17 electricity transformers for ensuring the uninterrupted power supply in the historical town were discussed.
A 12-member team to maintain the existing transformers has been deployed.
As part of efforts to lure tourists, the Panchvati garden will be developed, the statement said. District forest department will plant thousands of saplings surrounding the town to beautify it.
