Sunny weather in Delhi, mercury rises to 34.7 Degree C

New Delhi, July 13 (UNI) After nearly a week of cloudy weather and four spells of Monsoon rains, the Capital today saw the Sun rays emerge from beneath the cloud cover, resulting in rise of mercury to 34.7 Degrees Celsius.

With the cloudy weather being interspersed with sunny intervals and the humidity hovering at a high level of 75 per cent, it was back to the sultry weather for the people of Delhi who have, for the last one week, been enjoying the coolness in the air brought about by heavy Monsoon showers and the accompanying squalls.

The minimum too rose to 26 Degrees C, from 25.6 Degrees C yesterday.

The rise in mercury comes even as the last 24 hours have witnessed a lull in rainfall activity in Delhi, after the heavy showers that lashed the capital last morning.

Weathermen attribute the lull in rainfall activity to the decreasing influence of the upper air cyclonic storm, that had contributed to yesterday's heavy spell of monsoon rains.

Infact, with the cyclonic storm moving away from the region, Delhi and other regions of North West India could witness a dry spell in the coming days.

Though the weather office have predicted a few more spells of rains and thundershowers for the next 24 hours, they say that rainfall activity in the capital and the rest of the Northwest region is likely to decrease after 48 hours.
