Strict vigil on SIMI activists, but no action so far: Police
Nagpur, July 13 (UNI) A close vigil is being kept on the movement of SIMI activists in the city, where three Pakistani militants were killed while attempting to attack the RSS headquarters last month, Additional Commissioner of Police (crime) Dalbir Bharti here said.
In view of the serial bomb blasts in Mumbai on Tuesday, Mr Bharti told mediapersons today that, ''Whenever we need to investigate into the SIMI (Student's Islamic Movement of India) activities in the city, it would be at an appropriate time and any clue coming to the fore would be made public through the press. However, at present no action has been initiated at all.'' He maintained that the police force is kept on alert in the city.
SIMI has a network in different districts of Maharashtra, Nagpur being one of them.
Mr Bharti said the police has so far not received any information as to where the three militants were hiding in the city, before making an abortive attack on RSS headquarters.
