Senior police officials mt to discuss security in Capital

New Delhi, July 13 (UNI) Senior police officials today held a 'special meeting' to review the security scenario in the Capital in view of the Mumbai blasts and the approaching Independence Day preparations.

The meeting participated by Jt Commissioner (Crime) Ranjit Narayan and Special Cell officials, among others, reviewed the overall security in the Capital and discussed preparations for the forthcoming Independence Day, according to senior police sources.

The meeting, which followed after intelligence inputs on 'likely attacks on vital installations'', was also attended by officials of the Railway Protection Force (RPF), Railways and Delhi Metro.

Meanwhile, Delhi continued to be on high alert forcing flights to be delayed due to increased frisking and heightened checking at the airport.

Passengers at inter-state bus terminus and railway stations here were also subject to additional security checks creating inconvenience. However, no one seemed to complain as everybody seemed to understand the compulsions of security agencies.
