Rs one lakh financial help for victims of natural calamities

Lucknow, July 13 (UNI) The Uttar Pradesh government today announced to provide financial assistance of Rs one lakh to the kin of the victims of natural calamities.

Of the Rs one lakh, 50,000 would be provided from the Natural Calamity Relief Fund (NCRF) and Rs 50,000 by the state government.

UP revenue minister Ambika Chaudhary has already directed the officials concerned to provide immediate relief to such victims.

Mr Chaudhary said so far Rs 38.10 crore had been allocated to 70 districts of UP out of the NCRF.

Besides, the state government also sanctioned additional amount for contributing towards financial assistance to the dependents of each deceased of natural calamities.

The minister warned district revenue officers that laxity in this end would not be tolerated. ''All officers/employees concerned should take immediate action in this regard.'' He also asked the UP Relief Commissioner to take necessary action in this regard.
