Nine killed, 28 injured in two road accidents in AP

Hyderabad, July 13 (UNI) Nine people, including two women and a child, were killed and 28 others injured in separate road accidents in Andhra Pradesh today.

Six people, including two women and a two-year-old child were killed on the spot when an autorickshaw in which they were travelling collided head-on with a lorry at Kothagangaram village of Khammam District.

According to police, the victims were proceeding to Palavancha from Jillelagudem when the accident occurred.

The lorry driver was taken into custody.

In the other accident, three people were killed and 28 injured when the tourist bus in which they were travelling hit a stationary lorry at Guttapalli village in Kadapa district.

The tourists from Velugodu mandal in Kurnool district were going to Kanipakam in Chittoor district.

One of the seriously injured was admitted to the Tirupati hospital while others were treated at Yayachoti hospital, the police said.
