CPI(M) lay siege to Civil Supplies office protesting price raise

Hyderabad, Jul 13 (UNI) The CPI(M) today laid siege to the Civil Supplies office here, protesting against the skyrocketing prices of essential commodities.

Hundreds of party workers under the leadership of party's state unit secretary B V Raghavulu surrounded the office and raised slogans demanding immediate steps to reduce the prices of essential commodities.

Speaking on the occasion, Raghavulu alleged that the +lopsided+ policies of the UPA government at the Centre and the Congress government in Andhra Pradesh were responsible for the ''unprecedented increase in the prices''.

When police rushed to the spot and requested the leaders not to cause disruption to traffic, the party activists disbursed.
