Mulayam's language against VP Singh flayed

New Delhi, July 12 (UNI) Socialist leader Surendra Mohan has expressed unhappiness over the choice of words of Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Mulayam Singh Yadav while speaking against former prime minister V P Singh.

Commenting on the reported remarks of Mr Yadav that he would deal with his ''enemies'' in an apparent reference to Mr Singh who had led a farmers' protest against the setting up of a special economic zone in Ghaziabad, Mr Mohan said the Chief Minister should have expressed regret on the violence on the protestors.

Mr Singh was detained by the police along with Raj Babbar and others during the protests last week.

Mr Mohan said the farmers would resist allotment of land to the corporate sector, including the MNCs, anywhere in the country.

Peaceful resistance was going on in Orissa and was to start in Haryana soon, he added.

Urging Agriculture Minister Sharad Pawar to ensure that no more acquisition of land belonging to farmers were allowed, he said continued shrinkage of land under food production was ''extremely undesirable''.
