Ex-gratia disbursement from tomorrow

Mumba, July 12 (UNI) Maharashtra government will start disbursing ex-gratia payment to the next of kin of the deceased in yesterday's serial blasts in suburban trains from tommorrow, Revenue Minister Narayan Rane announced here today.

Earlier, Cabinet ministers Chagan Bhujbal, Dilip Valse Patil, Vijaysinh Mohite Patil and Narayan Rane visited the King Edward Memorial (KEM) hospital at Parel in central Mumbai.

The VIPs inquired after the well-being of the injured persons undergoing treatment at KEM.

Speaking on the occasion, Mr Rane said cheques of Rs one lakh each would be distributed by the state administration starting Thursday.

Meanwhile, Brihanmumbai Muncipal Corporation (BMC) commissioner Johny Joseph also visited the injured at KEM and announced that around 300 beds would be increased in BMC hospitals across the city and free treatment would be provided to all those injured in yeserday's blasts.

He said security around BMC run hospitals and Brihanmumbai Electric Supply and Transport (BEST) buses would be tightened.

The Municipal Commissioner said surveillance teams would be set up to conduct checks on BEST buses and its stations shortly.
