After goof up, bodies of Srinagar blasts handed over to relatives
Kolkata, Jul 12 (UNI) Six bodies of those killed in grenade attacks in Srinagar yesterday were flown in here by an Indian Air Force plane and handed over to the respective relatives after four hours of controversy of death certificates and identification.
The bodies arrived here but the airport authorities refused to release them due to non production of death certificates.
When those came by fax from Srinagar following intervention of state Sports minister Subash Chakrborty, some of them had wrong spelling of names, which the relatives refused to accept without corrected name.
The corrected fax copies of death certificate took some more hours to come and the bereaved family members had to wait for this official goof up at the airport.
Six injured tourists were also flown in to the city on the same flight were rushed to the SSKM hospital.
Meanwhile, two bodies of Mumbai blasts - Sumanta Dey (24) and Somnath Das arrived here tonight.
