ISRO constitutes high power committee to probe GSLV 'crash'
Chennai, July 11 (UNI) A day after the GSLV-F02 crashed into the Bay of Bengal, the Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO) today constituted a hig-power-committee to go into the reasons for the failed mission.
When contacted, ISRO Chairman G Madhavan Nair told UNI today that the committee would be headed by former SHAR Director K Narayana.
The committee would consist of academicians from National Laboratories, various institutions and ISRO Scientists.
The committee would go into all the aspects of the failed mission and submit its report in a month.
Mr Nair, who conducted the analysis with the ISRO Scientists at the Satish Dhawan Space Centre, said preliminary data showed that the GSLV Vehicle that crashed as one of the four strap-on motors did not develop the required thrust.
''Within half a second after the perfect lift-off, the thrust in one of the strap-on motors dropped to rpt dropped to zero and it was impossible to stop the vehicle'', he added.
