Mahoba, July 11 (UNI) The Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP) today asserted that the party would fight the 2007 Uttar Pradesh assembly polls on its own.

''We will not forge a pre-poll alliance with any party,'' BSP national general secretary Satish Chandra Mishra said here.

He observed that the BSP followed ''transparent'' policies and there was no question of any compromise on the issue.

Criticising the Samajwadi Party-led government in UP, Mr Mishra asserted that anarchy was prevailing in the state.

''People are fedup with the dismal law and order scenario in UP, while Chief Minister Mulayam Singh Yadav is all out to make the state exchequer empty by doling out largesse with an eye on the assembly polls,'' he alleged.

The BSP leader claimed the party would come to power riding on the ''wave of change'' blowing across the state.

Mr Mishra also denied notions that BSP was anti-upper caste party. ''In fact, other political parties are worried at the increasing participation of various sections of the society in this BSP's rank and file.'' UNI XC-VS RS1823
