'Vive La France' on Discovery Traveling
New Delhi, July 9 (UNI) The untold stories of the Eiffel Tower and the hidden surprises beyond the Arc de Triomphe are to be narrated in a special programme on France on Discovery Travel&Living coinciding with the Bastille Day celebrations this week.
Titled 'Vive La France', the one-hour programme for five days from tomorrow will culminate on July 14, the French National Day.
The first day will be for 'hidden Paris' showing city underground and a vineyard in the middle of the city while the second day brings out the city of light and love, showing a Paris of multi-ethnic workers.
The extraordinary stories about the Eiffel Tower will be told on the third day under 'Eiffel Tower Revealed'. The viewers will be given interesting insights into one of the world's most famous monuments, which needs a daily dose of pig fat. One of the boldest con stories in history when the tower was ''sold for scrap'', will also be recreated during the show.
The final two days will show 'Travellers: Paris' and 'Globe Trekker: South of France', the place of cheese and wine.
''France never is exactly the way it is described, be the description favourable or critical. This show will show lots of truth,'' said Dominique Girard, the French Ambassador at a preview of the programme.
According to Discovery Networks India Managing Director Deepak Shourie, 'Vive La France' captures the ''magnificent, vibrant and enchanting France''.
