'Law minister against separate HC for Haryana in Chandigarh'

Fatehabad, July 9 (UNI) Former Haryana minister and senior Indian National Lok Dal leader Sampat Singh today said Union Law Minister H R Bhardwaj was against the setting up of a separate High Court for the state in Chandigarh.

He said this was clear from Mr Bhardwaj's statement yesterday in which the minister has clarified the Centre had no plan, as yet, for a separate High Court for Haryana.

Mr Singh accused Haryana Chief Minister Bhupinder Singh Hooda of trying to befool the people of the state on the issue.

He said the conduct of the state government, while presenting a resolution before the state assembly, on this issue during its special session on December 15, 2005 indicated the government knew the Union Law Minister was not going to agree to its demand of setting up of the separate High Court at Chandigarh.
