Thirteen people nabbed at Bhiwandi for rioting, killing of policemen

Thane, July 8 (UNI) At least 13 people were arrested today at Bhiwandi in Maharashtra's Thane district in connection with arson, rioting and killing of two policemen there on Wednesday.

A high-ranking official in the Thane Police Commissionerate told UNI that the arrests were made by the Crime Branch of Thane Police.

He said offences of armed rioting and killing of policemen have been registered against the hundreds of unknown people and more arrests are likely in the days to come.

Meanwhile, the communally-sensitive powerloom town remained peaceful but tense today.
