Prime Minister Manmohan Singh arrives on a day's visit to Kolkata

Kolkata, Jul 08 (UNI) Prime Minister Manmohan Singh will arrive here on July eleven on a day's visit to Kolkata.

According to official sources here, the Prime Minister on his arrival at the Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose International Airport at around 1030 hours will drive straight to Salt Lake to lay the foundation of the National Institute of Science Education and Research.

Later, he will come to Raj Bhavan where he will hold separate meetings with Governor Gopal Krishna Gandhi and Chief Minister Buddhadeb Bhattacherjee on different issues, including the future of Darjeeling Gorkha Hill Council(DGHC), which had recently been brought under the Sixth Schedule of the Constitution.

Then the Prime Minister will leave for New Delhi in late afternoon.

Incidentally, the Prime Minister was scheduled to lay the foundation of the institute last year. But though he came he had to rush back to New Delhi after the serial bomb blasts in several parts of the capital.
