People throng the streets of Bhaderwah protesting over sex racket

Bhaderwah, July 8 (UNI) People of the town here in Jammu region of Jammu and Kashmir today held a massive demanstration demanding the arrest of a girl, allegedly involved in a sex racket, who was caught in a compromising position with a person a few days back and was let off by the police.

Shouting slogans against the adminstration and police for allegedly trying to cover- up the matter, they demanded a CBI enquiry into the whole episode and claimed it would be another sex scandle in the state exposing the involvment of politicians and high official of the administration, police and educational institutions.

A local PDP leader Imtiaze Ahmed Butt, teacher Kailash K Chander and BJP leader Satish Chander Kotwal, during the demostration told UNI the government must order a high level or a CBI enquiry into the matter.

They said the sex racket was running in the town for the last two-three years and many politicians and higher officials of the administration were involved in it.

It may be recalled that police had caught Mohammad Sharief Butt of Udrana alongwith a local girl in a compromising situation here a few days back from Jai Road. Both of them were bailed out by Tehsildar Bhaderwah the same day as police booked the two under CrPc instead of the Immoral Trafficking Act.

Later acting on reports, Senior Superintendent of police Manohar Singh conducted an enquiry and found Sub Inspector guilty of taking bribe from Butt to favour him in the case. The SI was placed under suspension yesterday.
