Heat wave continues in Kashmir, ten days holiday in schools
Srinagar, July 8 (UNI) With no sign of monsoon coupled with water shortage and power curtailment, the heat wave affected normal life after both the minimum and maximum temperatures went up by several degrees from normal forcing authorities to advance the summer vacation in educational institutions in the Kashmir division of Jammu and Kashmir.
However, temperature was near normal in the hill stations and other tourist resorts, much to the delight of tourists and locals.
Weatherman predicts no respite from the heat wave conditions for next two-days.
The divisional authorities have announced a ten-day summer vocation from Monday in all educational institutions in the Kashmir division following heat wave as the day temperature was recorded 35.5 degree six degree above normal today.
