VHP to support Hinduvadi party in UP assy polls
Guna (MP), Jul 7: The VHP will support that party in Uttar Pradesh assembly election which subscribed to Hindutva ideology besides being in position to emerge victorious.
VHP leader Pravin Togadia told reporters here last evening that the VHP will not be tied to a particular political party.
''However, we will support a party, which, besides being Hinduvadi organisation, is in position to win the elections,'' he said.
On whether the VHP would support the Congress, Mr Togadia said it was possible provided the Congress shun its minority-appeasement policies besides expelling Mr Arjun Singh.
In present situation, the VHP was neither in favour nor in against of any particular political party.
On former Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Uma Bharti's decision to form a separate political party following Hindutva ideology, the VHP leader said only time would tell whether the decision was right or not.
Regarding who, Mr L K Advani or Mr Rajnath Singh, proved to be a better president for the BJP, he said the working style of the BJP had improved since Mr Singh took over.
