SC declines bail to former acting chairperson of BPSC
New Delhi, July 7 (UNI)The Supreme Court today dismissed the bail application of former acting chairperson of Bihar Public Service Commission Razia Tabassum arrested for alleged bungling in the appointments by misusing her official status.
A bench comprising Justices Ashok Bhan and Markandey Katju dismissed the bail application observing that allegations against the petitioner were serious in nature.
According to the counsel for the petitioner she remained acting chairperson for very short period and allegations against her were false.
Former chairman of BPSC Ram Singhasan Singh was also arrested for similar allegations. Singh is alleged to have indulged in forgery for giving jobs to his favourites. Razia who is in jail had challenged the Patna high court order denying bail to her.
