Golden Jubilee of the BSI to be held on Jul 9
Kottayam, July 7 (UNI) The valedictory meeting of the Golden Jubilee celebrations of the Bible Society of India (BSI) Kerala Auxiliary will be held here on Sunday.
Talking to newspersons here yesterday, BSI Kerala Auxiliary President Rev Dr Thomas Mar Themotheos and Secretary Rev Dr Samuel T Varghese said that the Union Minister Oscar Fernandes would be the chief guest.
The State Youth and Sports Affairs Minister M Vijaya Kumar, Kerala opposition leader Oommen Chandy, Malayala Manorama chief editor K M Mathew, BSI General Secretary Dr B K Pramanik and others would also participate, they said.
The Foundation stone for Rs seven crore Bible Museum would be laid at Manganam rpt Manganam here as part of the jubilee celebrations, besides publishing the Malayala-version of the learners Bible.
The Bible Museum would be the first of its kind in Asia, they said and added that the museum would give information on the history of the Bible, the people involved in the creation and promotion of the Bible, the influence of the Bible on Society, the history of the Malayalam Bible and the history of Christianity in India and so on.
Kerala Auxiliary of the BSI was started on June 30, 1956.
