Dr Kalam condoles the death of Dr G Venkataswamy

New Delhi, July 7 (UNI) President Dr A P J Abdul Kalam has conveyed deep condolence at the death of Dr G Venkataswamy, the founder Chairman of Arvind Eye Care System, Madurai.

In his condolence message to Dr P Namperumalswamy - Vice Chairman of the Arvind Eye Care System the President has said, " Whenever I visited Madurai, for me it was a pilgrimage to visit the Arvind Eye Hospital and meet the great soul Dr G Venkataswamy, who gave light to more than a hundred thousand patients. During the past 30 years the Arvind Eye Hospital has produced the best doctors, nurses and other paramedical staff under the able guidance of Dr Venkataswamy.

The divine services of Dr Venkataswamy were indeed a fulfilment of God's mission for a man with the freedom of choice and with honour, as though he was the maker and moulder of himself", the message added.
