Rajaram weir on Panchaganga river flowing close to danger mark

Kolhapur, July 6 (UNI) With incessant rains lashing the city, Rajaram Bandhara (weir) near suburban Kasaba Bavada on Panchaganga river is flowing close to danger mark even as all rivers in the district are swelling and overflowing.

The water level at the Rajaram bandhara recorded 42.10 feet at 0800 hrs today which is close to the danger mark level of 43 feet, district collectorate office spokesman said.

Radhanagri tehsil recorded a highest rainfall of 74 mm during the last 24 hours ending this morning at 0800 hrs, the spokesman added.

The water level of various irrigation dams in the district was continuously increasing due to heavy rains lashing the dam's catchment areas, he said.

Although, the rains had abated, communication lines of 75 villages, most of them from Shirol tehsil, remained disrupted, he added.
