Paes and Stosur breeze into mixed doubles quarters in Wimbledon

London, July 6 (UNI) Fourth seeded pair of Leander Paes and his Australian team mate Samantha Stosur took exactly an hour to sweep away Argentine Sebastian Prieto and his Italian comrade-in-arms Flavia Pennetta in straight sets to storm into the quarterfinals of the mixed doubles event at Wimbledon here today.

In quarterfinals, the Paes-Stosur pair will run into the formidable American duo of Bob Bryan and Venus Williams.

The Indo-Australian pair showed clinical precision and was broken just once as they walked away with a facile 6-3, 6-2 win at court number two.

Trailing 1-2, Paes and Stosur soon overcame the deficit and won three games in a row to bag the first set in 26 minutes.

The seeded pair began the second set being broken by their opponents but won six of the next seven games to wrap up the match.
