UP students claim to have invented low cost LPG
Lucknow, July 4 (UNI) Three students of the Uttar Pradesh capital claim to have invented low cost LPG at Rs 40 per cylinder.
With prices of petro products rising each day, the LPG prices will increase in future.
Drawing an inspiration from President A P J Abdul Kalam, three intermediate students Brajbhan Singh Yadav, Neeraj Kumar Ojha and Sandeep Kumar Rajput have successfully tested alternative LPG in a pressure cooker, which can be transferred to any cylinder.
The students had already filed for patent on June 19 before Patent and Design Controller, New Delhi.
''The Controller who is out of the country in connection with WTO meeting will discuss the issue with us after he returns on July 10,'' said Neeraj.
Talking to UNI, the young inventor said he and his two friends had been working for the last three years to make their invention a success.
''We had to put all our pocket money in purchasing the chemicals and other things to prepare the alternative of LPG,'', he informed while refusing to divulge upon the chemicals used.
Neeraj claimed the cost of each cylinder at present was about Rs 40, but if produced in bulk, it would cost even less.
Meanwhile, sources in Non conventional Energy Development Agency (NEDA) here said they were also discussing the issue related to the claim of the alternative LPG by the students.
