TN has got Rs 720 cr under education plan: Official
Kancheepuram, Jul 4 (UNI) The Centre has allocated Rs 720 crore for Tamil Nadu under the Education for All Action Scheme, an official today said.
Speaking to reporters, District Principal Education Officer K Ramanujam said the Centre will bear 75 per cent of the cost while the balance will be met by the state.
Villupuram District has been allocated Rs 74 crore followed by Kancheepuram (Rs 49.75 crore) and Virudhunagar (Rs 14 crore).
Chennai has secured RS 7.5 crore.
The Tamil Nadu Government had also allocated Rs 35 crore for adding 1,500 classrooms to the schools in the district, he said.
