Sugar prices dip on thin demand

Navi Mumbai, July 4 (UNI) Spot sugar wholesale prices drifted lower on lack of fresh buying support from bulk consumers, traders at the sugar market said today.

Business volume was low ebbs due to thin attendence of traders in view of heavy rainfall in entire city and suburbans, traders pointed out.

Prices of small and medium grades eased by Rs 10 and Rs 15 per quintal, respectively, on increased offers by stockists.

Similarly, ex-mill prices of small and medium-grades dropped by Rs 10 and Rs five per quintal, respectively, on better stock supply by mills, traders added.

Following were the spot sugar wholesale rates per quintal: Small grade Rs 1,855/1,890, medium grade Rs 1,895/1,952. Ex-mill small grade Rs 1,840/1865 and medium grade Rs 1,870/1,910.
