Rae Bareli, UP, July 4 (UNI) Samajwadi Party supremo and Uttar Pradesh chief minister Mulayam Singh Yadav today refuted the allegations of UPA Chairperson Sonia Gandhi that his government had resorted to load shedding in Rae Bareli only after the SP lost the bypoll in May.

Addressing a public meeting here, Mr Yadav labelled her claims as ''baseless'' and asserted that the load-shedding was not the result of his party's defeat in Rae Bareli by-election.

The former defence minister said the power crisis in Rae Bareli was due to technical glitch with the National Termal Power Corporation (NTPC) plants.

However, Mr Yadav lamented the SP had never sufferred such a crushing defeat in Rae Bareli.

Meanwhile, the CM assured if SP came to power again, the face of the state would witness a positive transformation.
