Six villagers killed in landslides in Orissa

Berhampur, July 3 (UNI) Six villagers belonging to three families were killed and two injured in landslides in two villages located at the foothill under Guma block in Gajapati district today.

Official sources said while four villagers were killed at Jangrital village under Badakalekeot panchayat, about 160 km from here, while two others died at Minjiri village.

Incessant rains for the past three days caused landslips and a major portion of a hill caved in on these two village located at the foothill.

The local Tehsildar and Fire brigade personnel have rushed to the villages and launched the rescue operation.
