SC dismisses petition on DNA test of ''Gandhi's descendant''
New Delhi, Jul 4 (UNI) The Supreme Court today declined to entertain a petition seeking directions to the Central government to get the DNA test done on the petitioner Vinay Singh, who claimed to be the descendant of Mahatma Gandhi.
Vinay Singh, appearing in person before the bench comprising Mr Justice KG Balakrishnan and Mr Justice DK Jain, said he was the genuine descendant of Mahatma Gandhi.
The Court, however, took strong exception to such frivolous petition being listed for hearing before the court and directed an inquiry to find out how the petition was cleared for being listed for hearing.
