SBI introduces core-banking facility in Mizoram

Aizawl, July 4 (UNI) State Bank of India (SBI) has enhanced its services in Mizoram by setting up core-banking solutions for the first time.

Talking to UNI here today, assistant general manager SBI Mukul Ch Jeshi said, ''Apart from this, we have opened a new branch in Chawngte in Lunglei district in the western belt of Mizoram''.

Further, Mr Jeshi said that SBI would also setup three new Automated Tellar Machines (ATM) in the capital city at a cost of Rs 50 lakhs''.

According to Mr Mukul, the new plan of setting up core banking solutions would now benefit thousands of customers to transact their accounts from outside the state.

''All the necessary equipments including computer systems and software support is expected to arrive from Pondicherry this week'', he said, adding ''a full-fledged core-banking system facility would be operational across the state to our customers within couple of months''.

Beside this, SBI also has plans to open ten-hour banking system in in the main branch to facilitate the customers to do transactions till 6 in the evening, he said.
