35.79 cr sanctioned for irrigation schemes
Bhopal, July 4 : In order to increase irrigation potential, the Madhya Pradesh Government has accorded administrative sanction to 16 irrigation schemes in Vidisha district.
The schemes, to be completed at an expenditure of Rs 35.79 crore, would create an irrigation potential on 4,214 hectares after completion.
Sanctioning of Rs 2 crore for Gamakhar Tank Scheme of Basoda block and Rs 13 crore for Shahpur Tank Scheme of Nateran block would create irrigation potential on 232 hectares and 1,561 hectares respectively.
The Hatosha Barrage Scheme of Basoda block, for which Rs 55 crore was sanctioned, would irrigate 100 hectares.
Besides, Rs 52 lakh was sanctioned for Kulhar Barrage Scheme, which would create irrigation potential on 100 hectares, an official release here said.
In Basoda block, Rs 7.50 crore was sanctioned for Danmarhi Tank Scheme, Rs 20 lakh for Haripur Barrage Scheme, Rs 28 lakh for Somwara Barrage Scheme, Rs 44 lakh for Silarpur Tank Scheme, Rs 2.40 crore for Daud Basoda Tank Scheme, Rs 2.23 crore for Sahba Tank Scheme and Rs 2.40 crore for Ratankhedi Tank Scheme.
In Nateran block, Rs 22 lakh was sanctioned for Ravan Barrage Scheme, while in Vidisha block, Rs 26 lakh was sanctioned for Bilauri Barrage Scheme, Rs 26 lakh for Lashkarpur Barrage Scheme and Rs 59 lakh for Base River Barrage Scheme.
A sanction of Rs 2.88 crore was accorded for Rampura Tank Scheme of Gyaraspur block in Vidisha district.
The state government has directed concerning officers of the Water Resources Department to complete the schemes within prescribed time along with maintaining quality in construction works, the release added.
